Pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, Pacific Institute of Technology will make reasonable accommodations to offer persons with disabilities the opportunity to participate fully in its programs, activities and services.
Academic accommodations for courses at Pacific Institute of Technology may include:
- Extended times for tests
- Modification of test format
- Test proctor to read test
- Test proctor to transcribe test
- Test administration
- Private testing rooms
- Special seating
- Auxiliary aids and services (volunteer note takers, writers, tape recorders, etc.)
To request an accommodation, a student must complete and submit a written request which specifically states the services needed, along with current supporting documentation from his or her licensed health care professional. Requests should be submitted a minimum of 10 days prior to the start of classes because some auxiliary aids and services may require advanced notice.
